In a major crackdown on human trafficking, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested 458 traffickers and agents over the past two months, following directives from the Ministry of Interior. Among those arrested, eight high-profile traffickers listed in the “Red Book” were also taken into custody.
The FIA has also made significant progress in investigating past migrant tragedies. They have arrested 19 fugitives linked to the 2023 Greece boat disaster, 18 suspects involved in the 2024 Greece boat incident, and 10 agents connected to the 2025 Morocco boat tragedy.
To further weaken these trafficking networks, the FIA has seized properties worth PKR 661.63 million and frozen bank accounts containing PKR 73.51 million, all connected to illegal activities. Additionally, 26 red notices have been issued through Interpol to arrest traffickers operating internationally.
Authorities have also increased surveillance at airports to prevent further smuggling attempts. Officials have reaffirmed their commitment to continue the crackdown until the trafficking networks are completely dismantled. Meanwhile, FIA teams are working actively with victims to provide assistance and gather intelligence, ensuring a comprehensive strategy to eliminate human trafficking.
